About Los Angeles

Los Angeles, also nicknamed “The City of Angels,” is the most populous city in the state of California. It has several subsections such as Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Downtown Los Angeles, and Hollywood, that make up the Greater Los Angeles region. Due to Los Angeles having so many subsections, there is a very diverse population of people coming from all types of backgrounds. However, one thing that is not so diverse about Los Angeles is the weather. All year round, the weather is constantly quite dry, and it never gets close to freezing temperatures. Because of this, Los Angeles is a popular destination for people to go to due to the fair climate all year round.

The heart of Los Angeles is located in Downtown LA where it is extremely busy with many businesses functioning. There are tall skyscrapers with countless office spaces that are home to a variety of businesses. These range from major banks all the way to global consulting firms. As a result, Los Angeles is one of the largest economic engines in the country.

In addition to the multitudes of large businesses that are taking place, the entertainment industry of Los Angeles is unprecedented. Hollywood, a subsection of Los Angeles, is home to the most famous studios in the world including Warner Bros, Paramount, Universal, and 20th Century. Many people come to Los Angeles to visit these studios and take tours, and in the case of Universal Studios, they can even visit their amusement parks to get an even more in-depth experience. Another added benefit of having Hollywood within Los Angeles is that you may encounter a celebrity or two along the streets of Los Angeles.

With all these exciting aspects of Los Angeles, there are a couple of small caveats. One major aspect of Los Angeles is the traffic, which can cause extreme delays for even the most simplest drives. The famous 405, 101, and 5 freeways that result in enormous intersections are notorious for causing massive traffic jams that can turn a 20 minute drive into a 1 hour drive.
