Hollywood Attractions
While many people commonly associate Hollywood with the movie studios, there are actually many more attractions. The Hollywood Walk of Stars is a long strip of fifteen blocks on Hollywood Blvd which comprises of over 2,600 terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalk. On these stars are the names of people who have made a significant impact in the world of entertainment. The categories include motion pictures, broadcast television, audio recording, and more. Many people love to walk along this sidewalk to find their favorite celebrity. Then they could take a picture with it, but some even leave gifts or flowers as a sign of respect.
In addition to the entertainment industry of Hollywood, Hollywood is also home to a major fashion subculture called streetwear. On the popular streets of Melrose, Fairfax, and La Brea, there are countless shops that sell stylish pieces of clothing that cater towards many different styles. There are shops that are catered towards vintage lovers, skaters, high-fashion heads, and basically your everyday teenager. As you walk along the streets in this area, it is common to see people wear extravagant, and sometimes extremely expensive, pieces of clothing. This is due to the idea that many of these fashion collectors love showing off their latest purchase for others to see and admire.
However, after all the craziness you might encounter in Hollywood due to the heavy traffic, you can get away from all the people in East Hollywood in the region of Silverlake. Despite it being a part of Hollywood, it is actually quite peaceful. There are fewer tourists, but there are tons of great restaurants and parks for you to visit. One in particular is Echo Park, where you can ride a swan boat in the lake with a partner.
